England manager, Sarina Wiegman, has announced that she will be extending her stay at St. George’s Park in a new deal that will see her remain with the Lionesses until 2027.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe contract extension will see Wiegman lead the Lionesses in their defence campaign at Euro 2025, in what will be the next major tournament for the England women after falling short of Olympic qualification in the latter stages of last year.
Wiegman’s spell with the Lionesses has earned her the upmost of praise, leading the line in what brought ‘Football home’ in the 2022 Euros. The Dutch manager also lead the Lionesses to the Final in last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, in what was a stellar campaign from the England side.
Wiegman spoke with excitement in regards to her extension, speaking “I am so happy to have the chance to lead England through to 2027 after an incredible two and a half years.”
