Manchester City announced the contract extension of Lauren Hemp via an official club statement this morning, as the 23 year-old forward commits to the Sky Blues until the summer of 2027.

Hemp has proved a leaping presence for the Cityzens since signing with the club in the summer of 2018, having made 157 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The future of the English forward has been flying around precarious territory over recent months, as rumours flew in regards to potential interest shown by European giants, Barcelona. Despite the whispers that Hemp was Spain-bound, she has pledged her allegiance to the Cityzens for a further three seasons in Sky Blue.

Speaking on her contract extension, Hemp expressed “I feel at home here in Manchester. With the squad we have here, we are always learning and it’s so special to be involved at a Club where we’re capable of achieving anything. I’m so passionate about this Club and there’s no place I’d rather be. I’m very excited to keep this journey going for the next few years.”

Lauren Hemp will be back in action for Manchester City this Sunday, as they travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City at 18:45 GMT.
