The stage was set in N17, as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium geared up to play host to the final fixture of the Barclays Women’s Super League season.

Robert Vilahamn opted for four changes from his midweek Tottenham side that fell to narrow defeat at the hands of Chelsea, as Becky Spencer returns from an injury break to replace Barbora Votíková between the goal posts. Ramona Petzelberger replaces Drew Spence in the central areas, as Charli Grant steps in for Amanda Nildén after the Swedish defender picked up a midweek knee injury. Jess Naz also falls to the bench as Martha Thomas also returns to the starting eleven.

Rehanne Skinner makes a single change for the London derby, as Emma Harries enters the starting eleven in replacement of Emma Snerle.

It wouldn’t take long for the hosts to come out on top, as Bethany England took the ball down with a clever touch inside of the area. Making no mistake with her finish did the Spurs skipper, as she hammered home the first of the afternoon.

Tottenham looked to strike a second as Grace Clinton located Eveliina Summanen on the edge of the area, before the Spurs midfielder tested her chances from range. Though her strike failed to test Mackenzie Arnold between the sticks.

The hosts would hold most of the control as the half ran down, and looked to threaten again through Celin Bizet. The Norweigan did brilliantly to smoke her markers down the width, though her cross was tipped behind by the Irons last line. Summanen located Grant with her corner, but the Australian failed to convert at the back post.

West Ham would garner their first real opportunity of the afternoon, as Emma Harries placed a well sent ball inside of the area. Viviane Asseyi found herself on the end of the play, though Becky Spencer palmed the strike away from danger.

Bethany England’s first half strike would be the difference as the first half drew to a close, as Tottenham put their noses in front of the season’s final London derby.

Five minutes into the second half of proceedings the visitors would find the equaliser, as Riko Ueki slotted home her strike from the wide area. Becky Spencer made no effort to divert the attempt, as the Hammers number 9 found the bottom corner with brilliance.

England searched for a response as she streamed forward on the advance, though her strike was fired high of the intended target and out for a goal kick.

Eveliina Summanen located Amy James-Turner with a stellar set piece, though the centre half rattled the crossbar with her headed attempt. Despite the close call, the offside flag was raised.

Tottenham continued to surge forward with intent, as Robert Vilahamn’s side looked desperate to find the advantage at Whitehart Lane. A scramble inside of the area nearly saw Hawa Cissoko put the ball in her own net, before a joint clearance allowed Mackenzie Arnold to protect the net.

Jess Naz continued to raise the pressure on West Ham’s last line, as she beat out her markers down the left side. Her strike looked to prove threatening, before Arnold palmed away the danger with a stellar save.

Tottenham regained the territory once again as Jess Naz gained possession on the edge of the area. Taking a first touch to tee herself up, the Spurs starlet buried her strike into the side netting with skill.

Kirsty Smith catalysed an attacking motion for the Irons, as the defender teed up Risa Shimizu on the edge of the area- though the strike was fired wildly off target to deny the Irons of an equaliser.

Standing up when it mattered did one of their own- as Molly Bartrip’s brilliant challenge on Princess Ademiluyi denied West Ham of an equaliser at the death. Though it wasn’t over there, as end-to-end football allowed Drew Spence with an opportunity on the edge of the area. A brilliant strike saw Spurs fans on their feet, as she nestled a wonder-hit into the top left corner to conclude the campaign at 3-1.
