Southampton have announced the signing of 20 year-old Tara Bourne from Barclays Women’s Championship opponents, Sheffield United.
The defender made 17 appearances for the Blades over the course of the 2023/24 season, after a rise through the ranks of the Manchester United academy during her youth. Bourne has also been present through the ranks of England’s youth groups, as well as recent involvement in the Under 23s Lionesses side.

“Having conversations with the staff here, my plans aligned with theirs. I feel like together we can work towards big things, I’m excited for this season.
“The Championship’s a different ball game at times, you need different types of experience to win games – I feel like all my experience will come together to help the team.”
Bourne’s arrival marks the third official signing of the transfer window for the Saints.
