Newly promoted Newcastle have made their presence known after completing the signing of the 2023/24 Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Season, Claudia Moan.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe 25 year-old goalkeeper has signed for the Magpies over from their North-East rivals in Sunderland, in what has been a statement signing for the newly promoted side.
Speaking to newcastleunited.com, Moan expressed her excitement in signing for the Magpies: “I am delighted to be joining Newcastle United, who have shown in the past two seasons that they are a very ambitious club.
“The set-up at the club is fantastic which is something I know will help me settle in very quickly.
“I will give everything I possibly can to the team and the fans, who I know give incredible support to the club. I can’t wait to get started next week.”
Moan makes the move to city rivals after a stellar season at Sunderland, taking home both the Golden Glove, and the Championship Player of the Season accolade.
