Aston Villa announced this afternoon that Katie Robinson has signed a two-year deal with the club following the expiry of her contract at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 21-year old made her senior debut for the South Coast club in 2020. She made 68 appearances in total for the Seagulls, scoring 10 goals.

The forward also has five senior England caps and was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Villa’s manager, Robert de Pauw, said: I’ve known of Katie since I was Head Coach of the KNVB WU17. She played as a winger against my team and caused us a lot of difficulties. She has pace and knows how to make use of her qualities. She wants to add to her five international caps and wants to make the next step with us.”

“Her ambition to become better matches ours. I believe she is a player who can be a difference-maker in games, and I very much look forward to what she will bring to Aston Villa Women.”

Villa’s Head of Women’s Football, Lee Billiard said: “We’re really pleased to bring Katie to the football club. She is a player we attempted to sign previously. We continued to track her and are impressed by her experience at domestic and international level, particularly given her age. Katie is a player with big potential and we look forward to seeing her in claret and blue.”
