The Barclays Women’s Super League returns for the 2024/25 season, as 12 teams gear up to battle it out to become the Champions of England. We welcome Crystal Palace to the top-flight, after a stellar campaign in the Championship saw them achieve league promotion.

Opening Weekend

The opening weekend of all the action commences on September 22nd, as Arsenal host Manchester City at Emirates Stadium.The Gunners will be returning off the back of UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers, as they search to avenge last year’s disappointing campaign in fixtures commencing on the 4th of September. Just inches away from glory on the final day, Gareth Taylor’s Cityzens are sure to be hungry to right any wrongs that saw them stumble at the very last hurdle.

The reigning Champions will host Aston Villa as Chelsea welcome Sonia Bompastor for her first fixture as new manager in the Barclays WSL. The Villans will also be eager to set the tone under their new head coach, as they head to London for Robert de Pauw’s first game in charge.

Another team are set to enter the opening weekend under new management, as Dario Vidošić will lead his new Brighton & Hove Albion side. The Seagulls are set to host Everton, a youthful group led by manager Brian Sørensen. The Toffees will be equally as eager to set the tone from the outset of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur look to continue their growth in form, as they welcome Laura Kaminski’s Crystal Palace side, who will commence their inaugural season in the top-flight with a trip to North London.

West Ham United will be searching to correct the errors of last year that saw them in a precarious position at the bottom of the table. The Irons will travel to Leigh Sports Village to be hosted by Manchester United, who are eager to return to their dominant form of 2022/23, after a disappointing league campaign saw them record their worst ever result on the Barlcays WSL table during the 2023/24 season.

Leicester City will be keen to improve on a treacherous campaign, as they travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool. Matt Beard’s Reds coined themselves the real challengers of last season, as they will now turn their attention to a brand new campaign filled with high ambitions.
