Manchester United’s full-back Jayde Riviere will miss the opening game of Canada’s Olympics tonight against New Zealand. She is to be replaced by Shelina Zadorsky for the match.

It also comes after Riviere’s season at Manchester United was disturbed by a variety of injuries to the young full-back. No further information was given by the Canadian Olympic Committee, suggesting she can play a part in Canada’s fight to retain their title.
Canada will face New Zealand today at 16:00 BST in the opening group game of the Paris Olympics.
