Aston Villa have announced that head coach Robert de Pauw will depart the club with immediate affect.
The club released an official stating in regards to de Pauw’s leaving on social media on Wednesday afternoon.
“Aston Villa Women can confirm that Manager Robert de Pauw has left the club with immediate effect. We would like to thank Robert for his commitment during his time in charge and wish him well for the future.”
The departure comes after the side’s 4-0 defeat by Arsenal in the Women’s Super League last weekend, putting them in a precarious position in the league standings. The Dutch manager leaves the Birmingham club after just nine games in charge.
The club have confirmed that Shaun Goater will be in charge until a new manager is appointed.
