The two nations will go head-to-head this summer at DICK’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado before travelling to TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. The USWNT is set to play one additional friendly on July 2, with the opponent yet to be announced.

The two nations have met on 15 occasions, with the USWNT running out victors in every game. The two sides last met in a double-header ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

With Colorado set to become the latest expansion team in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the friendly fixture will be act as a perfect curtain raiser for the new soccer wave in the state.

USWNT head coach Emma Hayes will reunite with new Ireland manager Carla Ward for the first time since the two led Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively. Ward was a member of Hayes’s backroom staff at the gold-medal-winning Paris Olympics in 2024.

“Ireland is one of the most difficult European teams to play against, so I’m happy we could get these games,” said head coach Emma Hayes. “We need to play teams that will push us and create an environment where our players have to solve problems and play under pressure. We’re still early in our process of building towards World Cup qualifying for ’27 and we still have a lot of growth to go as a team and as individuals, so these summer matches at these great soccer venues will once again provide a platform for the players to show their abilities to excel at a high level.”
