Crystal Palace have confirmed that head coach Leif Smerud has departed the club upon the conclusion of the 2024/25 Women’s Super League season.
Smerud joined the club in February following Palace’s decision to part ways with former manager Laura Kaminski.
Since Kaminski’s departure, Crystal Palace have struggled to gather any momentum and as a result have been relegated from England’s top flight.
Speaking on his departure, the head coach told the club: “While we didn’t get the outcome we hoped for, I’m proud of the work we’ve done together.
“I’m grateful to Steve Parish and the board for their trust and for the opportunity.”
Crystal Palace have announced that they will provide an update on Smerud’s replacement in due course. The side are likely set for a busy summer window following their relegation back down to the Women’s Championship.
