Budget strikers in Europe’s best attack in 2025
Germany have scored an astonishing 26 goals in six matches in 2025 so far, other teams at EURO 2025 don’t come close to that tally. Christian Wück’s side have scored five more than Spain and 10 more than the next highest scorers to qualify, England and Poland. So if you are looking for a forward in a free scoring side, you could do worse than looking at Germany and their frontline filled with bargains.
Principal among those bargains is Eintracht Frankfurt forward Laura Freigang 5.0 (GER). Freigang has six goal involvements in five matches for Germany this year. She has a bullish personality to match, when linked with a move away from girlhood club Frankfurt, Freigang put an end to any speculation in a unique fashion, by getting a tattoo of the club’s area code.
Like Friegang, Selina Cerci 5.0 (GER) also has 6 goal involvements in 2025 for Germany, the Hoffenheim forward has not started as frequently as Freigang but is just as potent in front of goal. Both Cerci and Freigang recorded 19 goal involvements in the Frauen Bundesliga this season, only two players recorded more. One was premium midfielder Klara Bühl 11.0 (GER) with 20 and the other, also with 20, was Freigang’s Frankfurt team mate Nicole Anyomi who was controversially excluded from the squad after criticising head coach Wück.
If you are in the market for an even cheaper Germany forward then Cora Zicai 4.5 (GER) is your huckleberry. The 20 year old has two goals in three Germany games since making her international debut late last year. Zicai has signed for VFL Wolfsburg from next season, certainly a talent to keep an eye on.

One of the greatest players to ever don Le Azzure shirt, Christina Girelli 5.0 (ITA) is third in her country’s all time goal scoring charts and is first since the turn of the century. The Juventus taliswoman has four goal involvements in four games in 2025 for Italy and she is one of only two Italian players to score a major tournament hat trick.
Girelli managed 21 goal involvements in Serie A this season, more than any other player in the league. She helped the Turin giants take home their first Serie A title for a number of years after Roma had put a pin in La Bianconere’s stranglehold over Italian women’s domestic football. Her nation’s last major tournament victory, a 1-0 win over Argentina in 2023, came courtesy of the head of Girelli.
Staying in Italy former Everton striker Martina Piemonte 4.5 (ITA) could be worth a flutter of your budget too. Now of Lazio, Piemonte fought her way into the Italy squad after notching 20 goal involvements in 23 matches in Serie A last season. Piemonte is not a starter but has featured in four of Italy’s six matches in 2025.

Agnes Beever-Jones 6.5 (ENG) has enjoyed her most successful season to date at club level this year under Sonia Bompastor at Chelsea. That has now translated to international level, she scored her first international goal against Belgium recently and now has four goals in five games for the Lionesses. She is mainly utilised off the bench for the Lionesses but on her only England start, last month’s encounter with Portugal at Wembley, she bagged a hat trick within 33 minutes as England ran out 6-0 winners.
The 21 year old has certainly given Sarina Wiegman something to think about and after the success of super subs Alessia Russo 9.0 (ENG) and Ella Toone 5.5 (ENG) at the last EUROs her head coach may well look to Beever-Jones for a similar impact.
If not for her injury issues Vivianne Miedema 7.0 (NED) would be a simple set and forget in every fantasy team. Perhaps the most clinical finisher to ever strike a ball on English shores, Miedema is the Barclays Women’s Super League’s all time top goal scorer. While her move to Manchester City has been hampered by injury, the Dutch woman still had time to score the goal of the season against Aston Villa. She also scored twice in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter final against a heavily favoured Chelsea side. Her prowess ensured Manchester City were the only English team to beat the treble winners last season. Miedema scored the third most goals per 90 minutes in the WSL last season, demonstrating her impact when she is fit. If Miedema is fit for Netherland and firing, she is a must have for any Fantasy manager.
Another striker with a proven track record of scoring goals is Signe Bruun 6.0 (DEN). Still just 27, the Real Madrid striker has 24 goals for her country. The Danish forward got eight goal involvements in seven Champions League matches last season and managed 19 goal involvements in Liga F last season, one more than an certain Aitana Bonmatà could muster.

No player managed more goal involvements in the Première Ligue than Clara Matteo 4.5 (FRA) last season. For her club Paris FC, Mateo notched 25 goal involvements in 20 matches propelling them into the UEFA Women’s Champions League once again. The only cause for pause here is that she is not a guaranteed starter for France, expect her to be utilised off the bench against England and perhaps given a starting role against Wales in match day two.
The Swedish duo Ellen Wangerheim 4.5 (SWE) and Madelen Janogy 4.5 (SWE) are both worth a look too. The former, Wangerheim has 12 goal involvements in 10 Dammallsvenskan matches so far this season for Hammarby. Just 20 years old she is already being linked with a move to some of the biggest clubs in world football. She is not a starting striker for Sweden but expect some eye catching cameos from a future star. Her Swedish team mate Janogy is nearing 50 caps for her nation and has been exceptionally consistent since making her debut in 2019. Always a threat to opposition defences, Janogy is also likely to feature from the subs bench.
Belgium’s Elena Dhont 4.5 (BEL) has had a magnificent season in Italy for Sassuolo this year. Dhont ranks in the top three for goal creating actions in Serie A this season and created nine big chances, three more than any other player in the Italian top flight. She made more crosses than any other player in Italy last term too. Another player who is not guaranteed to start but should Dhont work her way into the team her potential returns from assisting is immense.
A more likely starter this summer is Hannah Cain 4.5 (WAL)Â the Welsh forward has stepped up with key goals for the Rhian Wilkinson’s side this year. That includes the vital opener in Dublin which helped send Wales to a first ever European Championship finals.
