Riola Xhemaili has joined PSV after a very successful loan spell at the club from Frauen Bundesliga side, VfL Wolfsburg.
PSV Eindhoven have exercised the option to buy 22-year-old Xhemaili from her parent club Wolfsburg. The Swiss national signs with the Dutch club until 2028.
An attacking midfielder who can also play on the wing, Xhemaili impressed in the Eredivisie with her vision, individual actions and runs. She scored 10 goals and made 6 assists in 22 Eredivisie games for the Eindhovenaren last season, who only became second in the league on goal difference. The second place earned PSV a Champions League qualifying spot.
Xhemaili was recently called up to the Switzerland Euros squad, after being in and out of the squad in recent months. On her Instagram page, Xhemaili wrote: “What once was just a dream is now reality. Honored to represent my country on the biggest stage”.
It is unknown what fee PSV paid for the Swiss midfielder.
