Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Cathinka Tandberg from Hammarby.
Tandberg joined the Damallsvenskan side midway through the 2024 season, and netted nine goals in just 11 league games. Now, she will hone her craft in the Women’s Super League for the first time.
Impressively, it was the 21-year-old who scored a 95th-minute winner to see Hammarby progress into the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage for the first time.
Tandberg featured 37 times across all competitions for Bajen, scoring 19 goals in total. Ten of those appearances came in Europe, where she found the back of the net on five occasions.
With five caps to her name, the striker made her senior international debut against France back in October 2023.
“I’m very happy to be here. It’s such a big club. Martin coming here, his playing style fits me very well, and hopefully I can score a lot of goals here,” said Tandberg.
“I want to score goals, but I’m a very physical player, always fighting for the team and fighting for the Club.”
Spurs head coach Martin Ho spoke highly of the new signing. “She’s an exciting young talent with pace, creativity and intelligence in the final third,” the manager said. “But just as importantly she’s a humble, hard-working character who wants to keep improving.
“Cathinka is a great fit for the culture we’re building here and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact she can make with us.”
