UEFA Women’s Europa Cup draw took place in Nyon today with Glasgow City drawing HB Køge, Hammarby facing SK Brann while Sporting Lisbon take on FC Rosengård.
Nadine Kessler and Pedro Pinto were back to help with the draw as was Arsenal legend Alex Scott. The trio had conducted the UEFA Women’s Champions League draw earlier in the day. Despite not being Europe’s premier competition, there remained plenty of pomp and ceremony, the tournament’s trophy was also revealed prior to the draw. Host Pedro Pinto explained that the six indents running through the trophy each represent one of the six rounds in the competition.
Some eye catching results from the previous round saw big victories for sides like Glasgow City and Inter Milan who knocked out Athlone Town and Hibernian respectively. PSV Eindhoven also made it into the hat after completing an improbable comeback to beat Rosenborg 4-0 on the night last night, having trailed 3-0 from the first leg.
Those sides were joined in the draw by those defeated in the final qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Just a few of the big names dropping down included former Champions League winners Eintracht Frankfurt and Norwegian champions SK Brann. BK Häcken, who lost in late and dramatic fashion to Atlético Madrid last night were also consoled by a place in the hat.
The ties for the inaugural edition of the competition will take places over the week of the 7th/8th October and the 15th/16th October 2025.
