The UWCL knockout draw has pit Arsenal and Chelsea on a collision course to meet in the quarter finals if the Gunners can beat OH Leuven.
Arsenal will face OH Leuven in the play off round and will face Chelsea in the quarter final should they win over two legs in February. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were also drawn in the same quarter of the bracket, with Madrid needing to defeat Paris FC to make a quarter final against their bitter rivals.
Crucially for both Arsenal and Chelsea they can now only meet FC Barcelona in the final after the Catalan giants were drawn on the other side of the bracket. Manchester United where less lucky, they will face Atlético Madrid in the play off round, with Bayern Munich lying in wait in the quarter final. The leaves FC Barcelona potentially lying in wait in the semi final after that.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League final will be on 24 May at Ulleval Stadion, Oslo. Former Chelsea defender and ambassador for the final in Oslo, Maren Mjelde helped conduct the draw. The draw was hosted by the familiar face of Nadine Keßler, the Managing Director of Women’s football at UEFA.
