Lotte Wubben-Moy says that she wants to ’empower’ her Arsenal team mates as well as ‘execute’ Renée Slegers’ game plans.

The Arsenal number three was speaking to the media following the Gunners 2-0 victory away at Crystal Palace. That victory booked Arsenal a place in the semi finals of the Subway Women’s League Cup, where they will face Manchester United.

Post match, Wubben-Moy took the time to speak to the press pitch side and The Halfway Line was there to hear from her.

Wubben-Moy on a ‘professional performance’ from Arsenal

Wubben-Moy came onto the pitch with Arsenal a goal to the good but with Palace threatening. An assured performance from the centre back helped her side into the next round,

“It was a professional performance from the whole team” Wubben-Moy said.

“To be able to come on with a one goal cushion [after a] wonderful header from Cody [Laia Codina] that was cool to see.

“But for me, personally, I knew I had to do steady the ship, get us playing a bit more, gain a bit of control. We’re Arsenal we need the ball to have control. And I think that’s what we did and managed to then get the second goal.”

Wubben-Moy ‘happy’ with 100% record in this block

Since Lotte Wubben-Moy has coming into the starting line up for Arsenal this season she has excelled. So too have Arsenal, this match was their fifth win on the bounce. The Halfway Line asked Wubben-Moy what Renée Slegers had told her to focus on going into this block of fixtures,

“[To] Kind of [to] do my job” Wubben-Moy replied.

“I’m at a point in my career where I kind of warrant these opportunities, rather than calling them an opportunity, but [say] this is my spot. I think also being able to execute but also empower other people.

“I’m a player that wants to put other people in the best possible positions, and I think that’s part and parcel of the job but also it has allowed us to progress onto those wins and yeah, five from five in this block, I feel happy.”
