Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Martin Ho as the new head coach of their women’s team. Ho joins Spurs from SK Brann on a deal that will run until 2028.
Martin Ho, originally from Liverpool, managed SK Brann to a historic quarter final run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in his first season at the club. Brann were respectably defeated 5-2 on aggregate by eventual champions FC Barcelona. He leaves Brann one point behind league leaders Vålerenga with 14 games gone in the Toppserien.
The English coach will be familiar with management in the Barclays Women’s Super League after his spell as assistant manager at Manchester United. During his time in Manchester he helped the club to their highest ever league finish of second in the WSL and the club’s first Adobe Women’s FA Cup final appearance.
Ho replaces Robert Vilahamn who was relieved of his duties as Spurs head coach last month. Andy Rogers, Managing Director of Tottenham Hotspur Women had said last month: “Results and performances this season have not been to the level we would expect and now is the right time to make a change.” Ho joins Spurs to manage that change, in what will be the club’s seventh successive season in the top flight.
