Manchester City ‘hungry’ for more silverware says Laura Blindkilde Brown

Manchester City made a slow start to the FA Cup final and rode their luck a touch. That was until Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw gave them the lead against the run of play, and they never looked back. Blindkilde Brown explained how the game had panned out in her view,

“I think, when we scored the first goal and then we got the second after I think we kind of relaxed a bit” Blindkilde Brown said. “Then we started playing football, and I think the first half was tough, and then think we got better in the second half, and we managed to dominate.”

Victory has contributed to a remarkable turn around for Manchester City from finishing fourth and exiting the FA Cup to arch rivals United,

“I think we haven’t won silverware in a long time” Blindkilde Brown said. “So to be able to win both this year is, is really nice, and I think it just makes us hungry.”

Blindkilde Brown ‘excited’ for double winning celebrations

After showing huge promise at Aston Villa, Blindkilde Brown has struggled to find a consistent place in the City midfield. With the arrival of Andrée Jeglertz last summer, that all changed, the shift in tactics to have two at the base of midfield has allowed the midfielder to play alongside the very best in Yui Hasegawa.

In the final, she excelled, no player won more duels than Blindkilde Brown when she was on the pitch. Blindkilde Brown was asked to explain what the secret to her success this term has been,

“Yeah. I think I just try and take every game by game” she explained. “And I think, yeah, I grow with confidence each game, and I think I’m still young, and there’s still a lot I need to improve on.

“So, just trying to improve every game and learn from the others around me.”

When asked about the celebrations tonight a mischievous smile drew across the England youngsters face, “I don’t know the specific plans” she said with a grin “but yeah, it’s gonna be exciting.”
